I've search through various forums + the workshop Haynes manuel and cannot find the removal procedure... looks like the rear hatch glass needs to be removed first :S ???

Yeah, as has already been said. Undo the centre support first, then on the underside of the hatch there are four nuts to remove, two on each side, obviously It will then lift straight off.
