it's getting to that time of the night (and panic caused by thesis) that I'm starting to giggle at all the things "mature" people dont.

I mena, 45 pages .. no worries! 
my main problem is with the 20-25 page introduction.
in all honesty I could cover very well the introduction in 3 pages, but 20?!?
means I have to research everything anybody has ever written, no matter how wrong, insignificant, or implausible, put it in there, and flesh it out.

I never got the idea of a 45 page thesis that only serves to stress people out to the maximum and in the end probably won't get read all the way through anyway. I mean, wtf is a 25page intro?
