Ok what is a good suspension package to get ?
I want the car slightly lower... proly an inch & half will do me fine... the sump and exhaust sits pretty low as is.. (Max if you are reading this, is your sump pretty close to the ground ?)
with shocks - what do you recommend ?
and what about camber kits and shit like that ?
and what do "nolathane bushes" do for your car ?

nolathane bushes... simply replaces your (most likely) very tired existing bushes that sit b/w rigid body structures and moving parts of the suspension system such as link pivot points and swaybar mounts.
replacing these bushes revoves any 'slop' from the joint, and basically tightens up your suspension movement, so it only travles in the direction its supposed to under load.
nolathane is simply a very good replacemnt material to use when doing your bushes.

Dude, mine is 2" lower and it never scrapes. My car still sits pretty high off the ground, even though the guards are almost covering the wheels!
As for shocks, it depends on what sort of damping you want... My shocks are ultra hard, but I like them like that... Need them like that really...
With the camber kit, talk to K-Mac. But I haven't really found a need for one... Not like I've been out on the track or anything...
Nolathane bushes minimise the movement of your suspension components... They may be a bit of overkill for the streets... Depends on how you drive... I think I need them... I have a feeling that the rear end is getting very sloppy...

dont nolathane bushes have a shorter life compared to the rubber bushes?...like they only last around a yr or something like that i think i read that somewhere... so if you dont want to keep replacing them..just use the rubber ones... thats my unqualified piece of advice

You got a bigger front swaybar yet?
What about your wheels? What are they?
Soft shocks and springs do prevent wheelspin because they allow more weight to transfer to the back during acceleration.
Swaybars can cause more wheelspin in certain circumstances... Mainly when you're on bumpy ground.

Les, do you have an RA60 or an RA65? IF you have an RA65, you'd probably have to watch just how far you lower the car because of the IRS. Someone covered this before on the old forums.
Narks RA60 lowered: || || Your RA65 lowered: // \\
These are views from your cars at the back.. If I were you, go talk to the Mk2 boys. They should have a clue as to what to do as well. I read somewhere they dont recommend lowering the car more than 1.5" or something and I'd reckon it would be a similar story for an RA65.
Alternatively go speak to a suspension specialist and run through with them exactly what you are looking for.

I have a larger front swaybar.. Rear one is stock (ie: tiny).
I wouldn't mind a larger rear one, but not too sure how it'd affect the handling, it's already tail happy enough. It might be too much of a handful if I upgrade the rear swaybar.
As to which one you should get, it's up to what you want your car to handle like...

Yeah...do you just want something a little harder and firmer for the occasional spirited driving....or something a little firmer again...with good balance across most road surfaces...or something verging on drift style where its really hard...ala Nark

If you want something slightly firmer, drop it an inch and get slightly firmer shocks. It will improve the boatiness noticably. Don't worry about sway bars and the like.
In regards to the swaybars, in a nutshell: Front swaybar will reduce oversteer. Rear swaybar will reduce understeer..
