Rings are specific to piston dia and the size of the lands.
So if you had an 85mm piston with 1.5,1.5,3.0 mm lands than any ring set the same will fit wether they are toyota, nissan, holden etc.
But all 18r pistons are the same size as far as i know.
Hope this helps.

18R and 18RG have the same bore size BUT different piston ring thicknesses, so you will need to buy the 18RG rings. Also when I bought my 18RG rings (genuine Toyota) the top ring was cro-moly and the second ring was cast.
As M.J.H. said, if you know your bore size and ring thickness you could get the ringhs to suit. Save buying genuine $$$. Make sure if you get 'file fit' rings that they are fitted properly (i.e. actually filed to size).

this may not apply to the 18RG, but there can be differences in the depth of the ring grooves, and thus the depth of the rings...
had this happen with a K motor.... 2 different depths of oil rings were released..

THERE IS ANOTHER DIFFERENCE between 18r and 18rg's
18rg's are built to go to around 8000 rpm, 18r's are not.
Hence, 18rg owners are usually advised to go for chrome rings, as the normal type rings can warp at high revs and high cylinder temps, this ends in tears.
