what do you guys do with your old coolant / oil/ brake fluid etc.
I dont want to pour it down the drain and kill the all the platypussy's in the local creek.

i have seen some service stations with special bins for collection of the crap, mind u i have only seen it out whoopwhoop in Newcastle

I'm using my old oil up painting the back of a timber retaining wall I'm building as added long term protection from timber rot.
Just a thourght.

waste disposal centres (tips/dumps) have a special section for oil. nfi about the others - I usually just stick them in the main tip bin

yeah I might pass on your suggestion lambolica - doesnt seem to enviromentally sound and im sure the landlord wouldnt appreciate a oil covered fence or wall.
previously ive just left my old filter and bottle of drained oil out the front of a garage for them to put in their recycling drum.

It was done around a heap of schools near home years back.
by the same token you probably dont need to paint a retaining wall every 5000km's or so either...

Toongabie Waste Management Centre has a section for waste oil. Found that out today. I'm going to dump some stuff tommorrow I'll tell you if they charge.

I believe (correct me if i am wrong) that all service stations must have appropriate oil disposal systems, and to be MTA certified they must accept your oil free of charge, in the interest of the environment.
most rubbish dumps also have a section.
