who makes lowered springs for ma61's?

i have heard there are some issues with lowering the rear end with the IRS or something...
anybody have input/advice?

Cheers

kings are pretty good.

problem with the ma61 (and ra65, and others) is that the more you lower them, the more camber you put on your wheels.
this can be compensated for at the front with a camber kit, but not at the back.
so the more you lower it, the less rubber you'll have on the road, resulting in unequal wear, additional suspension stress, etc etc. basically a bad thing

unless you like really fast hard corners, then its all GOOD Smile the rear camber on hard fast corners actually counters the ma61's tail happiness to a degree...

kings are pretty good i found for a road vehicle

cheers

exactly my next project... i havent had much luck finding coil-overs and now im trying to find the best combination of springs and shocks...

I've looked at kingsprings.com.au and they dont have a listing for ma61 ? but do for ra60 - 65 .... i guessing this would be the correct type...

did a front sway bar come as an factory item - also what colour bushings come from factory ? jus trying to figure out wat has been replaced or not Smile

sort of on topic... how much do urethane bushed for the ma61 go for, and where from?

I'm tempted to go thru the club sponsor - 25% discount and such, but is there a stock part number or do they just make them up?

I replaced my MA61 low king springs with standard yesterday at Wholesale Suspension Penrith. Fitted it cost $550 and I got a discount of $100 when I traded the low springs. The guy said the springs only suit the MA61 so you might be able to do a deal.

On page 12 of the kigsprings.com.au cattledog you can find the listing for MA61.

whiteline suspension stocks the bushes

The sponser told me in the past that they will have to be made up.

kings definitely has a SPECIFIC ma61 listing.

youll find that their 'low' is what youd be after - not even sure they make a super low for the ma61 - trust me thi - the 'low' will be plenty!!

and you wont 'find' coilovers - you MAKE them...

coil-over being a custom job - hence my lack of success...

hmmmm... guess its back to the phone 2morrow to find some matching shocks... what specs for a hard suspension?

ahh.. im sure this has more or less been covered with the kyb / koni / pedders discussion...

FWIW the rear camber problem CAN be corrected with modifications to the rear crossmember. It's not a trivial exercise though.

I went with Lovell Springs - actually, they were 3rd prize in a competition I won. Normal price is around $90 a spring from memory. Drops by about 1.5" and makes for mega rear camber ... urgghh. I also have front camber/castor adjusters (which also RAISE the vehicle 1").

Just buy standard height ones, from all accounts they still drop the car a smidge.

Thats the car I had the standard king springs springs put back into last weekend, the ride was too harsh and any decent potholes made it bottom out. The standard springs are great and it still handles just as good.

FWIW I've got Kmac progressives on my ma61 and I love them. 1 inch lower, rear camber is not excessive at all. While the ride is harsher than the standard springs(albeit 20 years old) it isn't overly harsh. Cornering is much improved. Pricey compared to some springs, at $165/pr, but they do make them for your choice of ride height...

Any one used camber bolts in their IRS? One of mine has them so I thought I would check what success others have had with them.
Cant really test the adjustment range myself, neither diff I have is attached to a car at the moment Sad
