A bolt for a bracket is snapped in the head of my car. I drilled a hole in it and used an easyout to try and get it out. but the easy out also snapped. so now i have a bolt stuck in my head, with an easyout stuck in the bolt. i tried drilling out the easy out but it wont drill through. any ideas?

cheers

Sit a washer over the broken bolt and weld it to the bolt then weld a nut to the washer the heat will loosen the bolt and it should then screw out .

1) If you drilled right thru the bolt before you used the easyout, you may be able to punch it into the cavity behind the broken bolt.
2) Attempt to unscrew the easyout with a small pin punch. Use plenty of crc etc. Sometimes you can break up the easyout as it fairly brittle.

3) I personally dont like easyouts as the always seem to break. I like to completely drill the bolt and retap the thread.

4) There is a mob in NSW that deals in removing broken taps, and drills etc there mobile is 0418 246531

I have never used them, as i do all my own work, but they advertise in the IAME Automotive engineer magazine.

Hope this is of assistance.
