I guess there is a first for everything....

I got my first speeding fine the other day. So frustrating. I was going along, being a good boy and obeying the speed limit (or so I thought). Going down a hill so i was going about 55 in a 50 zone (or so i thought). Turns out it was actually a 60 zone. But what I didnt realise was that it was a school zone. So they pull me over. So not happy. If I am going to get caught, at least I could do it "properly". Grrrrr

I had gone 9 years without a speeding fine before I put the 1j in the Supra... Then, when I was giving jza70-mel a demo (code for showing off) I went right past a speed camera on Anzac Highway - 74 in a 60 zone. I got the photo - there were two black lines (about Supra width!) on the road pointing to the back of the car!! I'd lauched it in 1st and then must have got traction in second a few seconds before going past the camera's trigger zone.
Fingers crossed, haven't had any since. I was really pissed off at the time though becuase I used to brag all the time about never being caught speeding!

i've been caught speeding twice, once in my 300ZX doing 95 in a 60 zone (pennant hills road), and once in my Supra doing 100 in a 50 zone (i'm shamed to say... church street - i didn't want to catch the orange light you see!)
got let off both times!!

I think I might have been sprung on the way to work today. Was doing 120 in 100, just saw it and slammed on the anchors(well, slowed down quickly, there was no-one behind me) I didn't see a flash and if it did I woulda been going prolly 10 over by that stage.

You should be sweet then. They usually give you about 10% leeway. So that should be fine.
Yeah my bro speeds as much as me (used to speed more) and he has been driving for 2 years longer. He has never got a fine. It's just not fair I tell you!

You will note that I said "driving for two years LONGER".
And those fines dont count. It's only the ones that go on your license.

I dread the defection notice! I can see them giving me one cause my car is so low it's not funny. Or the exhaust is too loud or something. It's funny, whenever I see a cop, it always, "drive extra slow and extra quiet".

Been caught twice... First time 87 in a 70 (roadworks) zone. My Commodore was registered in Mum's name so she took the points but made me pay the $165. She thought I'd lose my licence... I didn't want to correct her. Second time which was last month in the Cressida 76 in a 50 zone. They only did me for 74 though. Still, 3 points and $200.

Yea whenever I drive past the cops I always drive about 10 below the limit and put it in 5th gear(silent mode on the 2tgeu), has worked thus far...

I rev it up past the cops.. and my exhaust is sooo loud.. but they have given up on my car i think. I used to get pulled over 3 times a week before i got exhaust.. now i dont get pulled over at all.. so maybe they have just given up

I don't see the point in purposely attracting attention from the cops myself

its rather silly i think.
When i got my sticker some cops pulled up behind me i thought ahhh fck here we go so i nannerd it the lights come on i pulled over turnd me car of he comes up its a bit loud mate i said "what do yo mean i was doing 40kmh?" NO WE HEARD YOU TAKE OFF FROM THE OTHER SET OF LIGHTS so he said turn it back on i did he said give it a rev so i just tapped it he said come on its got more than that so i got out he jumped on the peddle and reved the tits of it - long story short cops are gay
ohh and ive had many speeding fines 2*3 pointers 1*4pointer 1*1pointer and a 1*2pointer
which reulted in me losing my licence while i was on ym p's which meant i had to do it all over again but im no off my P's and have 12 points

I have heard rumours that the loudness that they "allow" depends on your engine size. Is this right???
