I'd be curirous to know how it fit better - the 1jz is longer than the 1g, and fatter. (and noticably heavier in a light car like the sprinter )

If your have more pics can you email to me on
notiiqk@hotmail.com
So easy fit? I heard you may have neeeded to cut and weld. As in a 1jz wuz the exact limit for an 86 enginebay.
BTW what is largest capacity engineerable?
How was the traction issue?

the only cutting and welding was on the radiator support panel and the tunnel needed a bit of modification nothing major
i found a few more pics of my previos engines like my 4agze with the 1ggze blower, that went extremely hard but i reved it to 8000rpm one time too many and it did a bearing. it was running 14psi using a bigger pulley.definately a worthwile upgrade for all you rwd gze fans

if only the poor old ae86 weighed 40kg more it would be engineerable
the current guidelines state
unmodified factory weight x2.5=largest forced induction capacity
in this case 960kg x 2.5 = 2400cc

We had a play around with the same thing the other day in the workshop. i dont imagine you have a gearbox sitting on the back of that engine as it sits in your car. 1J bellhousings are huge and we found there would be massive firewall mods needed for this. Twin turbo setup is a pain in the arse. Single turb 1J would be much tidier.
