A few Q's on RA28 Celica interior

Hey all,
I'm just wondering how to remove most of it! I have the front door panels worked out, but how do I remove the dash? and is it possible to just remove the woodgrain section around the gauges, as I'd like to put something custom in there.
Also, is it possible to get to the rear speakers without removing the entire rear quarter panel? Can I just remove those little speaker grills? I tried just taking out the two screws at the top of the grill, but it still seems to be attached some how.
Any help would be great.
Cheers,
Tim

The woodgrain part of the dash comes out by a few screws up the top of the gauges. Yu also need to take most of the bottom half of the dash off to get the woodgrain part off as well from memory.

I'll need to check but I think that the rear speaker pods are 1 glued to the panel (at least in the last car I had)

Take out the ash tray and there is some screws there, around the guages and you'll need to take the knobs of all your heater control stuff from memory as well. First time takes the longest but then once you know what you're doing then it only takes about 10.

Don't forget the two behind the heater panel. The heater panel just pushes in place. Flick it out with a small flat screwdriver.
Don't bother taking out the dash pad unless you really want to change it.
The rest of the dash just has screws everywhere. Go hunting and you will find them.

Thanks guys, what about the rear speaker panels? Also, to get the woodgrain piece out, I need to take out the heater and everything?
Cheers,
Tim

You will need to remove the plastic facia from the heater switch panel. You won't need to remove the heater.
I have never owned a RA28 that actually had the original speakers in the back. You would need a good feed of weetbix to remove the speakers from the back of my RA28. I think they weigh about 40kg including the amps.

Does anyone have the stock speakers in the back of their RA28? If so, can they be taken out without removing the entire rear quarter panel?
Cheers,
Tim

If they are stock speakers, located behind the plastic grill in the side bins? From memory, as it has been a while, No 1 remove the bin, then remove the 2 screw cover plates(auto trim tool works wonders) release the 2 screws, and using the above mentioned tool gently prise around the edge's. I think there are a couple of plastic posts that go back into the trim. Hope this helps. Huge point! not many RA28's actually came with speakers in those positions.
