Dunno got the same setup here (XP SP1) no problems, got 8.1 here though I had 8.0 before and it seemed fine.

Do you mean Xp wont shutdown properly?

Its 20 odd meg or you could try Xteq X-Setup which is a tweaking program. It gives you the option to get XP to close unresponding programs on shutdown automatically after x seconds. It might do the trick.
