Can anyone give me an idea on the likelyhood of getting insurance on an RA40-GT with 18RGTEU in it? I'm 22. Also links to NSW/Sydney insurance companies insane enough to insure me would be welcome.

a/m turbo probably means you'll be needing justcars.

1 speeding fine 15 and under and recently an accident where the cops reckon I was at fault but I'm going to appeal it :/ VERY unimpressed with the police atm - bunch of revenue raising wankers.
Just figure paying $1k per year is cheaper than having to fork out $20k for someones car... Dunno how much this guys car is gonna cost me still :/
Have a standard 18R-G atm is that classed as a standard 18R or are they smarter than that? If it is I could get away with standard RA40 insurance...

um
shannons porbably wouldn't mind too much if it's just 18r -> 18r-g ...
it's generally not a fantastic idea to lie on insurance aplications, 'cause if they do decide to inspect your car after an accident, then they'll deny all payment due to the mods

I didn't mean lie. I was asking if they have specific classes and if they would treat a C diferently to a G. From your answer I gather yes.

yep
it's not the engine the car came with
insurance companies can get REALLY bitchy about this when they feel like it (read: when an expensive claim comes knocking)

i once tried that.. saying my RA23 was stock standard..
it had differant paint. a steering wheel a set of rims.. and an after market cheapo 80's soney tape deck...
when someone decided to plow into my car insurance told me to stick it... because my car wasnt standard..
i managed for them to pay half of the bill and i was stuck with the other half.
Id let them know every detail.. it may ending up saving you in the future.
