ma61 stabilizer bar VS sway bar ??? Wed, 24 September 2003 01:10 Go to next message
What is the role duty that the stabilizer bar provides, and what are the chances of fitting a sway bar to an aftermarket suspension set up.

the stablizer bar is 10 - 15mm thick - and attaches to both lower suspension arms of the front shocks ?

trying to research the suspension as much as possible !

thanks.

Yes, you can get aftermarket sway bars, and I believe Whiteline have a kit for MA61's.

I don't know if they make sway bars but I do know they don't make Strut Tower Bars Sad

Cheers.

Sorry Draven,

Whiteline don't make one for the MA61. I asked when I bought one for the ZZT231. I don't know where to get one besides America but they are not doing another group buy for a long time.

Cheers.

Yeah, a steel/aluminium bar with attachment points on either end is hardly rocket science... I can't believe how much some people will pay for off-the-shelf items sometimes!

yeah, that's what I've been considering - check the specs on a few strut braces, and mimic them.

I've seen 2 types thqat I'm intersted in. one has the 2 braces meet in the centre of the firewall, the other has them spaced out.
common sense tells me that if you put the firewall mount points at 1/3 and 2/3 the way along, that would be best.
comments from people who actually know?
