AE86 cracked dash, home repair ideas?

Hello all,
typical for the good ol Sprinter to spilt its dash.
Luckily so far mine only has a small split that branches out as 2 splits in the centre of the cluster shroud.
Besides having it reskinned, anyone have any suggestions?
For small crack slike this, no more than half a mill wide, what does that vinyl repair work like?
Superglue and snad and repaint with vinyl paint? OR any glues, I know superglue has nasty fumes, not sure if will do damage.
Is there another Corolla model that has a similar shaped cluster shroud area. like can cut the AE86 dash at where it starts to rise and fit the new cluster shrould over it (probably needing cutting as well). So the dash becomes 2 components as alot of models have anyways.
I have seen people make "custom dashes" with bodyfiller and painting it after.
Do you think ganking out the dash, covering it in a small layer of bodyfiller, sanding and painting would work? OR would that crack in sun etc etc etc.

do what i did, accept defeat and get a dash mat 
about $20 at the markets, they even come in blue 
my dash looks like the grand canyon

pay an over-inflated amount to get entire dash recovered and/or restored.
Yes, you're paying somone to inhale toxic fumes & paints - when many of us will do that for free - but it will look better that the drug-affected cockup we could produce 
Or stick carpet to it with a waterproof and flexible adhesive.

My dash was completely stuffed, 1cm wide mountain ranges in the dash. Had someone flatten and fill the cracks and attach a fine black carpet type material to it.

Everyone seems to like the fluffy fluff as a coverup.
Where and what kind of markets sell dashcovers made for sprinters?
Hmmmmm do you think the bodyfiller would work?
I am not a fluff fan myself.

My dash is a bit too bad for home repairs. Does anyone know where i can get it fixed in Melbourne? I hate looking at the shitty thing and my car is being painted so its already out of the car.

I've used polyfiller for large cracks, it seems to work. Sandable, but pliable so it's still soft.
I also got some vinyl the other day from Bunnings, but I'm thinking it's not very stretchable so could be a problem trying to contour it... Can I get thinner more stretchable vinyls? Where from? Or do I just use a hair dryer or something (I don't have a heat gun) to melt the vinyl and make it more stretchy?
