2JZ-GTE will set you back $3.5-4k (auto) or $6.5-7k (6-speed) from what I've seen lately. Of course you can easily pay heaps more than that, so shop around.

I can't recommend any importers in your neck of the woods, but in Qld the pick of the bunch are Rolin Automotive Imports and Asian Auto Spares.

Ive dealt with Asian Atuo Spares before an dall i can say is DONT, i repeat DONT buy anything from there.

Its a strong case of buyer beware.

I know of 4 different situations where Asian Auto Spares hasnt come to the party, even after the department of fair trading told them to, they still didnt.

Other people may have had pleasent experience with them, but you have been warned.

The cheapest way isnt always the best.

Just my opinion from personal experience.

I have only seen one 2JZGE halfcut and it was around the 2K mark. You are much more likely to find motors with cut looms (with prices ranging from 500-1200 with an intact loom). The demand for these items is low and it looks like the ones we are getting at the moment are high mileage units out of Crown taxis.
If finances, insurance and application permit, I would strongly recommend the turbo variant.

I agree with FKN16V, my mate had a very bad experience with them that left him $4000 out of pocket.

Yes, subtle. Like not a mention on the website of the wiring except for a couple of pics of Telecom Central's copper mine under the dash! Very Happy

Big job is an understatement and doesn't do Norbie justice.

Ahhh Project 2JZ *giggle*, it only took what, 12 months? Laughing
*poke poke* Smile

No idea on an MA61, couldn't have been that hard, then again alot of people who helped out were never mentioned in that webpage. In an A70 chassis it's like eating a piece of cake, infact it's easier Smile

I picked my 6 speed cut up for $6000. Look around, there are decent cuts out there for a reasonable sum - those who want 10k + for a manual turbo front cut are just greedy wankers.

i know of a guy that has a 2JZGTE VVTI 6 speed manual, tailshaft to clutchfan all accesories ecu, loom ect with warranty for 6K. dont underestimate the 2JZGE either in an MA61 they are quite fun.if u do decide to do this conversion i can give you the number of the guy that makes the engine mounts to bolt JZ to MA61 and i also should have a spare 2JZGE bellhousing/flywheel. pm me for details.
cheers.

My web page is just a collection of pics I happened to take during the project. It is by no means intended to be a definitive how-to guide for an MA61 2JZ conversion! "For entertainment purposes only."

The wiring is pretty much done now (still one or two loose ends, but it's minor stuff), and most of the messy rats nest wiring has been tidied up. The dash is back together as well so it's all hidden. The whole lot has to come out again soon though - the heater core needs replacing. I've been putting that job off for ages!

Couldn't have? You say that based on what experience? Razz

If I'd mentioned everyone who was involved the list would be a mile long!

Believe it or not there are some significant differences between an MA61 and an MA70. For starters there was never a factory JZ engine option for the Mk2. Smile
