Does anyone know of a compatible air flow meter for a 91' Camry?
the stock one is designed REALLY STUPIDLY! instead of a heated wire hanging accross the intake there is a HUGE flap in the way which moves VERY SLOWLY when the trottle is pressed... Meaning there is hardly any response off idle
That bloody huge flap is supposed to be there.
It's used to measure how much air the motor is sucking in.
It's called an airflow meter.
You could replace it with a MAP sensor type off a later Camry but you would need the ECU as well. These compare manifold pressure against a known pressure to calculate the amount of air being sucked.(correct me if I am wrong somebody !)
