the tappets r a ticking under my bonnet, and the local library has no books on the 4ac, what is the clearance?? thanks

(cold) INLET .18mm (.007")
EXHAUST .28mm (.011")

(hot) INLET .20mm (.008")
EXHAUST .30mm (.012")

You may still get a ticking sound even after correctly adjusting the tappets. Not to fear, this is just the mechanical fuel punp that is driven off the cam.

Use the hot clearances Sprintah! gave you. (My manual agrees). I haven't yet understood how the cold tolerances can be smaller than the hot ones - metal expands when hot to partially fill the gap. Very Happy
