police problems Thu, 25 September 2003 22:38 Go to next message
recently some f witt back into my car whilst i was in it and saw and then did the runner i chasesd for a but gave up as the guy was driving like a real dumb arse. but anyways i have reported it all to the police made statement.... now seriously this is really a whole 5 mins out of there time but i have been fu#ked round for the last 6 days... they say u have to deal with this person faior enough u do and they have dont f all, they expect you to get three qoutes so its leagal if taken to court and since the number plate it all mangled they expect you to get the beaters to come over and assess the car more money out of my pocket... and they say this could take quite a while for anything to happen... ie find the person....
so they suggest getting this fixed... they all think ppl have endless amounts of money
i tell ya sometimes i have to wonder what police are good for.
any one had any good experances maybe may lift my spirits about the police..!?

you're not the first person to have troubles like that. persevere, maybe try talking to a different cop, or perhaps a different station.
too much longer and their car will be repaired. then it gets harder to prove it.

take it to the police ombudsman and make a report dude, that will get the fucking coppers of their arse once the ombudsman gets up them or if he starts to investigate the way they handled your problem etc. unless you make the first move and push the bastards they wont do anything. goodluck dude. Yeah it is unfortunate that dishonest people make it hard to report stuff like that. I had a similar incident and the copper explained to me that it is a regular occurrence for someone to back into a pole...then drive around looking for someone with damage on their car and report it as a hit/run... he said one guy even backed into the pole intentionally and reported the number plate of someone he knew for revenge.

I think generally the police (in the ACT anyway) are pretty good, considering the sort of shit they deal with day to day.

However, I have had a separate (assault) charge that I felt was being unfairly treated, it took them 3 weeks to even take a complaint!! It was amazing how quickly it was processed once I wrote a polite letter to the Attorney General - making it very clear that the letter was also being sent to the shadow attorney general. Confused

[EDIT]

As always be careful how you word any such document - only state facts, or if you sate an opinions make it clear that they are your opinions...anything else will not help your cause!
