What to do about crappy paint!

Not real happy with the standard of the paint on my car at the moment, I've waxed it few times and it does come up much better but it only lasts a few months at best....it washes fine but there are stains that are really hard to get out without turtle wax (what I use at the moment).
Anyone got any suggestions (besides a respray ) or products that seem to work well?
Here are a few pics (it was washed about 2hrs b4 too ) Not the best in the world but you get the idea.

Cheers

If you've got a full day to waste do the following...
Wash and chamios
Maguires Paint Cleaner
Maguires Scratch X
Maguires Wet Look Polymer Sealant
Maguires Yellow Wax
Thats what I did to mine and the paint is excellent... except those damned bird turds... they require more scratch X than i could be bothered with...

you could actually try POLISHING it, and not just waxxing it
there is a difference
Polish first, wax after

Can anyone suggest a good cutting / polishing compound and wax then? (points finger at peewee)
When I did do it I just used turtle wax for the whole thing...
(Turtle wax does a great job of getting the shit off / out but if anything gets back on it, its just as hard to get off again)
Yeah I think they are from a tree mainly.... grr damm tree in driveway

firstly dont use a cut polish combo, just useless for your problem.
get a good mothers/meguiars product like a fine/medium cut{dont pay less than $20}, for the best grade of cut ask the pro at the shop to have a look at your car, get a few of those cut pads {yellow things u sometimes get free with wax} completely wash the car PERFECTLY then make sure its bonedry, leave in full shade so car is cool/cold {they dont work good on hot bodies} then get some elbow grease into it wait till the wax is fully dry {only if it specifies, some say not to let it dry} then get some cheap shit terry towel from crazy clarks to get the cutting compound off, then apply the polish.
i did this on my VK, i was amazed at the colour the ACTUALLY was, i just did this on the corona too

I find cutting it with a machine the best and use turtle wax cutting compound cause it has no silicon in it. If you dont intend on painting it for a while then use a polish with silicon in it after,
Remember silicon is the lazy mans friend

i pretty much agree with phil
although i reckon using elbow grease gives a much better finish than an electric buffer
just for the record, i like 'kitten' products.
i know A LOT of people dont like them, but my dad and i have been using them for years and i have always been happy with the results
then again, i have never used meguiars so i really cant compare
if you are going to give it a cut, make sure u get a coloured cut, ie, white car, white cut, blue car, blue cut
i think your car is metallic green? so it maybe hard, but go to a car paint store and ask the dudes there.
when i first got my cressida, i got BONDO white cutting compound
it pulled out every scratch that wasnt down to the primer/metal, and was extremely easy to apply/take off, it was about $25 from memory, but i got 2 full applications out of it

Cool as, the car is white by the way (its just a pretty crap pic!) so it should be easy to find a white cut
<----- points to avatar
I actually prefer to do things by hand so with a of a bit of elbow work so it should come up good
Thanks for the help guys, I'll let ya know how it turns out.
Cheers
