Ok some genius put 2 stroke into the MA61, which has obviously crapped it up something shocking. We have put injector cleaner through it and its stopped smelling like 2 stroke every time we crank it over. Only problem now is, it wont fire. We tried using "start ya bitch" but still nothing. Anybody got any ideas on what we could try to get the friggen thing going?

the oil/2-S shit may have fowled/stuffed the plugs.

can you pull 'em out and give the ma good soak in 4-S petrol (to remove any oil/shit then leave them dry in direct sun or hot air (tho i would advise NOT using any electrical heating device to provide hot air in case you light-up some fuel).

and you getting a spark at all?

Charles.

yeah it did foul the plugs, quite a few times, have pulled them out a few times, and cleaned them. We even got some of those bosch 4 prong ones, and even still, no go, it seems to be almost starting then just wont.

Bit of a dumb question but have you got rid of all the 2 stroke fuel from the system because this wont help at all Smile

must be not fueling the engine properly - specially as you're replaced the plugs Wink

have you tried beating-up/hurting the idiot who put mower fuel in it? Cool
e.g. "if you don't start this time, i'll have to begin punching him! "

can you check if you're getting fuel at the rail? do the plugs smell like raw fuel if removed? maybe the injectors are clogged with oily shit from the 2-s? do you have enough fuel pressure (maybe the pressure regulator didn't like the oil)?

was the timing changed/modified while attempting to rid engine of 2-S? any backfire or exhaust pops while trying to start (enough fuel, timing way wrong)

Charles.

1. Yeah fuel is at the rail
2. Yep, the plugs smell like raw fuel when we take em out
3. Used some injector cleaner to try to get rid of the shit
4. Not sure of the pressure, any way to check?
5. Timing hasnt been altered, and the chain hasnt been touched
6. Thanks for the help here guys, really appreciate it

gauge in place of fuel line to cold start injector is handy spot - but seeing as the injectors can soak the plugs, i'd say it has enough pressure.

i suppose you have to go back to basics:
plug leads in right order?
rotor in dizzi?
is coil sending a spark? (hook up HT lead from coil directly to a handy s/plug, earth it to the engine, crank and watch for spark - or get 2-S culprit to hold plug and listen to them yell?)
put timing lite on plug lead one and see if sparking at right time for low rpm while cranking?
are there any errors from ECU? (use engine check light?)
dunno ... am all out if ideas...

otherwise, slam hood shut, go into kitchen and get very drunk, by late sunday afternoon problem may have gone away while you were dealing with your hangover? Razz
