Alright dont laugh but i wanna get one of them Vespas - those small scooter bikes. i think they are really convenient !

No not all bikes are manual
but they're not exactly auto either

they just dont have a clutch...u still shift but theres no cluth

well thats how my postie is anyway
and if its a scooter then most likely itll be autoclutch
....or prbably just have one gear

to get your L's its a 2 day course then a knowledge test
the course is insanely easy
the knowledge test was made easier by this link

https://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/tests/driverk nowledgetest/demonstrationdriverknowledgetest/inde x.html

i did the knowledge test in 5 mins thanx to that link....hehe

Cant remember the price of the L's test

but my P's test that i booked was $163

i think the L';s test is around $80 all up ?

What Mani said about cost sound about right. I remember $67 for the Rider training days, and $16 for the L's knowledge test.

But if your getting a bike(vesper) for convinece, you may just want to consider rain.

I got a bike as my first vehicle, and it was fun an all untill it rained. Putting on all the wet weather gear was a PITA.
That was one of the reason I sold it to get my sprinter, and besides once I had my full license the 250ZZR was of no use.

They recently changed the rules to allow L's rider to have bigger cc bike. There is a list though of bike you can, and can't ride.

Good luck if you do go for you license.

Oh yeah review of "All" the Questions and answers from the RTA website will bake the knowledge test a whole lot easier.

AFAIK, most (if not all) scooters are auto.

Vespas are very.... *yawn*

The Peugeot ones look cool though. So are a few others.

What I'm saying is that if you're gonna get a scooter, then would you rather this:

Or this?

Incidentally, I've been on the Italjet (the second pic) with my cousin. We hit 110km/h up a hill. Not bad for an automatic scooter!

all the same (in the ways that matter)
$700-$1000
trading post

I looked into one of these for a little while, to save money on petrol
reason I didn't was top speed - around 70km/hr is redline

Re: How do you get a motorbike license ? Wed, 01 October 2003 10:27 Go to previous message
Yeah they go for around $700 - $1200 pending on age and condition

i got mine for $800 without rego...sweet condition... 20 000 on the clock, but i think i got a good deal....i dunno....

i dunno what is it with me and all my vehicles needing blue slips

it redlines in 4th gear at 90km/h apparently on the speedo

but u wouldnt want to cruise constantly over 60km/h as it has HUGE fukn stroke and revs out pretty quickly so it doesnt sound too healthy going past 60km/h on cruise

short bursts over 60 are fine but not on cruise

they have piss all power....comparitevely....however..and this might sound weird but it actually does have a suprising amount of torque down low ....by down low i mean immediately off throttle.....but like i said it revs out fukn quick

and i think the biggest capacity u can get is 110 cc for the postie so make sure u get that

and they are damn fun on some wet grass
