Blew up 1st diff in Cressida :( Wed, 17 July 2002 08:19 Go to next message
what a bastard... can't get one of the bolts undone on the top of the diff. I was at this one bolt for about an hour, swinging off it with 2 hands and both feet pushing. NEarly popped my guts out my arse! Its on the LHS and not much room with exhuast and stuff. AHHH I'M MAD!

Anyhow.. i'm only doing this once!.. next time i'm putting in the skyline diff and if you see me post i've blown another diff and i'm just putting a stocker in again, kill me!

what a bastard!

I changed over my diff tonight also, got sick of the grumpy locked centre, but it was a piece of piss, 1.5hrs from wheels on the ground to back on the ground.

helps that its been changed over 6 times in 9 months! all the bolts are nice n easy Rolling

ah all done. Turned out to be partly my fault. I put the jack stands on a part of the chassis that flexed the diff enough to be pulling it up. So it made extra strain on everything. Thanks Joey for pointing that out. He came over to give me a hand, seeing he is the master going through 5 in the limo. Anyhow, all back together now and going well.

Luke

ps.. went and bought a breaker bar Wink I LOVE IT Smile

Mate, when I can't get a bolt undone. I break out the compressor and rattle gun. Always does the trick
