Turbo problem on a 3SGTE Sun, 28 September 2003 19:35 Go to next message
I have a problem with my ST185CS.
When hot it feel´s like it´s loosing power.
Where is the sensor that feel´s the turbo pressure? Can it be disconnected and how?
I am making app. 0.9 bar when 1-1.1 it makes fuelcut or something it´s f------ anoying.
Please come with a lot of ideas....
And how to make it faster.
Very Happy
Jacob

If you disconnect the knock sensor and your engine won't last 1000km.

Whats happening is that you are:

(a) running too much boost, or
(b) too much ignition timing, or
(c) too low octane fuel

Alternatively you could be having a serious issue with you fueling system (blocked filter, bad injectors etc).

If you disconnect the knock sensor (the thing that is protecting your engine by reducing power) then the engine will simply destroy itself with pinging. Easy way to cost yourself $3.5K for a full rebuild mate.

Making it "faster" at the moment is a stupid idea. Fix the problems first, then try to get more power.

The hose to the the fuel-cut valve is closed with a bolt. I have no boost valve only and uprated actuator. I think it is because the engine is getting to hot that it loosing power. I drove it yesterday evening and it drove like a dream. ?.
The pump to the IC is running constantly when there is ignition.
What have you done about the IC.?
water - air or air - air.
How do you cope? with the hot wheather in Aus.?
