Cruise control trouble shooting for a MA70

Talking a while ago to Allan he was saying something like the cruise control is actuated near the pedal, not on the engine, which got me thinking at the time, then I saw a girl walk past ... so now I'm thinking about it again.
With the 1uz in place, can I use my standard cruise control?
Details:
Cruise control currently doesn't work - doesn't take control of accelerator.
MA70 GT-L, came out auto (mine has manual conversion).
1uz, non-toyota computer.
steering wheel has buttons on it for cruise control and dash indicators light up when turning it on/off.
The speed sensor I put in for the computer is an aditional one, the stock one is still used for the digital dash (and works perfectly - 1km out at 100km/hr).
Whats first/next to check?

From what I know of the MA61 cruise control, it uses the dash for its speed signal and there's a little computer in the passenger side kick panel which runs the whole show. It's completely separate to the engine ECU, so there's no reason it shouldn't work after an engine conversion. I've actually been thinking about this lately because I'd like to get it working with my 2JZ.
Now I think the MA70 cruise is pretty similar to the MA61, but I'm sure the experts will chime in soon enough.

the cruise is easy to get working
all u need is the speed sensor signal from the back of the dash
and theres another signal from the gbox
not to sure what it is i think its lockup converter signal

Sideshow, How long would it take you to wire it up for me? I'm not good with wiring.

I've been trying to get cruise working in my beast too. A kind person gave me all the required parts from a front cut, and I've wired 90% of them up. Just need the last 3 wires and hopefully it'll work. Wish me luck!
