Done it once, never doing it before may seem a little scary but once your in/your in and everything seems to full into place.
Good luck, there are plenty of people who can offer assistance.

The only option you have for a half cut is a JZX81. If you get a JZX90 you will need to have Heaps of custom fabrication done and also buy heaps of additional bits.
If you get a JZX81 it will be piss easy and cheap, if you get a JZX90 it will be fairly difficult and expensive.
Take note of this warning and dont let anyone tell you that the two chaser cuts are the same.
I have a JZX90 1J in an MX83.

Supra R - you'll probably find you have to go interstate to find a half cut. I know a couple of the WA guys have had to get them shipped over (typically from qld) to get what they're after.
you could buy a half cut from qld, ship it over, and still get it for less than that $4.5k thing

Seriously though dude, I bought my engine from Adelaide as its not likely I'd come across one here in Perth, or for a decent price at least.

avoid asian auto imports like the plague.
some people have got good gear from there but many of us got stiffed.
rooted engine's 3
rooted gearboxes 3
rooted radiators 3
rooted turbos 8
and once they have you cash they dont care.

please, do tell. i am always up to here more about these jerks.
my half cut had a rooted gearbox, and rooted radiator, i was one of the lucky ones. i ring him up and say, your advert says three months warranty. he says yea engine only, department of fair trading says, everything must work due to the way he advertised the warranty. in the end an ethnic friend of mine paid him a visit and i got a phone call saying the gearbox was on the truck.
i highly recommend ROLLIN AUTO IMPORTS, he sent me the replacement box, drove 100ks out of his way to put it on the truck. top bloke. but as he told me michael as asians brings in shit and now offers no warranty.
michael at asians told me he was an aussie battler trying to make a living, (in a fine pommy whinging accent), what about poor old me, be saving my hard earned money for 3 years to buy a half cut, whos the battler.

well...guys...it seems i'm totally run out of luck....
i tried all the places you said...and none of them have them or willing to get the half cut for me the neareast future!!!
the only place i came and cross is JMS...and the engine mount was cutted when they try to send it here...so that option is gone as well....as there is not point for me to buy a 1JZ from other state and get a custome mount here in WA...i rather buy one here ........
WHAT CAN I DO NOW?.....come back to base? another boring 7MGE........

I guess every importer has good and bad experiences for customers. I guess its the nature of the business.
I have had a very bad experience with the Toyshop.
I paid heaps and still got a dud.
You dont always get what you pay for!
This is just my experience though.
