all u need is the mt8 microtech

use the original ignitor and coil setup

i have wired up afew

they do an ok job

only prob i find is the cold start is bit hard to perfect

best thing to do is fit an auxilary air valve which lets in more air when cold then closes off as engine warms up

Yeah dude, you only need the MTX-8. I have one on my AE82 twin cam and I havent had a problem with it, and the cold start is perfect! I also had a idle problem, which happened to be a faulty T.P.S. The throttle was closed but the microtech was reading that the throttle was about 5% open. I put on a new T.P.S and BEAUTIFUL!!!! Smile You will be able to adjust air/fuel ratios, increase/decrease timing, rev limit, boost cut, and heaps more things! And dont forget, you will be able to do away with nearly all the anti-pollution crap on the motor aswell.
You never never know if you never never go!

MTX12 is a over kill for a 4age, but it will work if you have one,

i have done heaps of them with LT8's using the stock coil/igniter setup, on a GTE i would use a LTX8 with coil packs,
alot of idle problems are due to people not setting the TPS correctly, what this does it makes the car use the load map not the idle map (in matrix mode this is less of a issue)

NOS4ag,

you didnt need to buy a new tps, you can adjust the settings in the TPSCAL screen,

cold start is a problem if you remove all the idle up stuff from the bottom of the throttle body, if you leave it there you will have no problems with the stock cold settings, also the newer LT's have a lot more cold tuning which makes it a lot easier to get it right,

BTW the MT series are no longer made, they have been replaced with the LT series which is about to be replaced by the LTs series
