have seen a front cut of a TA63 carina, complete with 3tgte etc, am curious to know if the whole brake and strut set-up would be a straight bolt in swap into a TA23 celica, as if I bought the front cut this would be an idea to do as brake upgrade?

You can use the A6 brakes and/or struts on an A2 Celica, but it's not a bolt-on affair. I have MA61 hubs, rotors and calipers on my RA23 struts; it was pretty easy to do but involved a small amount of fabrication work.
