The tacho booster is only required if you're trying to use the stock tacho in older cars (eg my MA61).

Norbie is quite correct. You only need a Tacho Booster if you are using a stock tacho that was originally driven from a standard ignition coil. An exception is Nissan engines that only output a 5 volt signal.

yeah, I'm curious too - would like to get my hands on one to install it while I'm wiring up everyhitng else

my mtech outputs a 12v signal, designed for a/m tachos. does one of your boosters change this signal to work with the ma61 dash?

Sixworks Tacho Boosters Wed, 08 October 2003 00:12 Go to previous messageGo to next message
Sorry guys, I have been having lots of trouble with Optusnet lately (email and net access) but it seems to be sorted now. Cost of the Tacho Booster is $98, is locally made and has more functionality than the MSD unit. I will have stock from next week onwards. Please email me at sixworks@optusnet.com.au and I will be happy to send you technical details and an order form.

Grant

I have one in my Supra (2JZ-GTE -> MA61 digital dash). It works flawlessly.
