ECU programming/mapping

Hye about ECU programming and mapping, right now know nothing about it. DO deal with computers though, Is it hard. Any links that can be suggested to read to educate ones self.
Not like they have tertiary courses on it haha, so besides just saying "experience" how do you learn to do it.....

best way to learn is to blow up the engine
so u dont do it next time
u need a dyno and air fuel ratio meter ( a good one)
there are some guys that can do it on the road by driving and feeling the car but for a begginer dont do it unless u know what lean and rich feels like especially on a forced induction car

i wouldn't fuck with your ecu map setting unless you really knew what you were doing, as sideshow says, very easy to blow an engine up

I say fuck with it. Fuck with it little amounts at a time and make sure you have the right diagnostic gear. Check out diy efi for some timps www.diy-efi.org
