1uz wiring harness Wed, 01 October 2003 05:28 Go to next message
ok., i've found a 1UZ for 900, broken thermostat housing, no wiring

i plan to run aftermarket computer, so not having wiring isnt the biggest problem, although, will i still need the loom to connect up to injectors/sensors etc?
can i buy one of these (does anyone have one?)

also, how much is a thermostat housing?

cheers
Peewee

Has the engine got ALL the sensors? If not then forget it. Wiring you can kinda cope with, but if you've gotta get new sensors they'll start costing.

I bought my 1uz for $1250 + p&h. Had no computer and wiring cut at the back of the heads. I used most of these wires and wired them into my JE Camira wiring loom. Next time I'll buy a V8 harness, have it all wired in and ready outside the car.

pfffft next time.

its obvious if a sensor is missing right? they all screw in?

my main worry is connecting the injectors, they have special clips right?

What you want is the sensors in place (theres heaps) and a small wire (or 2 or more) coming out of them (over 2 inches of wire) That way you can wire it in yourself.

Who's putting the autronic on for you? Ask them.

If you want other options for computer, PM me.

yes, this is exactly what i'm hoping for
if not a few more inches of wire

i'm puttting in the autronic myself (while its on the garage floor), but i'm getting it off a reputable tuning place, so i can ask them stuff

cheers Pete

i guess i wont know until i look at the motor on sat

Cressida Supra,
Don't buy any ECU!!!!!!
Go and talk to Alan Gibs. He is the Kalmaker guy. They are looking for someone with a 1uzfe to put the Delco on. I do believe they are still looking for someone. I was going to send my ute over but I don't have the time or $$$. As you are in Perth it will be easy for you. His email is tpiconn@mail.space.net.au
He will be able to tell you what the go is.
