if your dad's a tightarse, get a job
is he tight as in, won't give money for a conversion, I don't blame him. My old man would never give me jack If he's tight as in for space to doing a conversion, then I can sympathise with that, as there isn't much space at my house to have a car stripped down and converted easily without some lowlife off the street flogging off with things

haha, that's cool then. I can somewhat relate to that. My mum questions me as to why I want to put a TT 6 into my celica, let alone when I'll be wanting to put a TT 8 into my other celica "you'll never be able to use it on the road!" etc etc
unfortunately I don't know anything about 4age's. I'm trying to learn as much as I can about the engine I have in my car and the one's I want to put in first before I go into other engines The 4AGE rwd conversion is a popular one tho I understand, so I'm sure there's heaps of info under search. you're lucky too, as 4age is more then 2 characters long, unlike 1G, so the search engine won't kick you out (hint to whoever is fixing the search engine to fix plz )

ahem....
well, having done this conversion many times, i can tell you that it is one of the easiest to do....
first up. the 4A-GE will bolt in using the normal engine mounts found on a RWD 4A engine. the only problem is, it will be solid mounted, meaning no engine mount rubbers...you CAN fit one piece of rubber, about 3mm thick, on each side, but it will be tight.
OR... you can fabricate mounts which bolt to the engine block, that use the standard sprinter rubbers. i have a set of fabricated mounts if you want to buy them from me, but it will set you back $75 plus postage....
the gearbox crossmember to use is the KE30/55 corolla one, but you need to spin it around, so the left hand side is on the right of the car.
you will need to get a tailshaft made up to suit, also.
the easiest thing to do for a radiator, is to use yours, if it is in ok condition. it has more than enough cooling capacity. but you will need to get it modified, so that both outlets are on the drivers side. this should cost around $20 at any radiator shop.
that's the basic mechanicals out of the way....that should get you started..

hey, umm my mate is selling his 4age, but it isnt a rwd version.its a aw11 mr2 motor with 125000k's on it all sensors, uncut wiring loom and ecu...so its complete, i know your probably thinking that its gay cause its fwd but i have already does this conversion and i found it piss easy, all you need is a rwd intake manifold which i picked up from just jap in lansvale(ph.97542666)for $75,rwd exhaust manifold or you can get a set of extractors made by liverpool exhaust for $275 you can purchase these from stuart wilkins rally at mulgrave (not sure on the ph number but wouldnt be hard to find), and you just modify the fwd water pump a little and you set...umm i forgot my mate wants $650 for the motor above with everything to run it...so its your decision dude,
cheers mate
