What percentage of your speedo have you used?

This thought has occured to me a few times, but moreso today when I was driving my mum's 323 with a speedo that goes up to 240. Knowing the way my mum drives it hasn't been over 110, so she isn't even using 50% of it?
so, simple question, what percentage of your speedo have you used? My manual ra23, speedo of 200kph, max travelled at, 160, 80% used! My auto ra23, speedo of 200kph, max travelled at, 140, 70% used 
With a 1G in my auto, then hopefully a 1UZ in my manual, hopefully it will be doing well over 100%

My speedo has come close to 230 out of 240. That's 95.8%.

how far does a digital ma61 speedo go?
ive had it to 135, but got scared due to retreads being rated to 140.

AFAIK...
Reading was on a GPS and at those speeds, I wasn't looking down at my speedo.
Still had plenty of pull too.

With my old speedo that went up to 180 I did about 190 according to the dude beside me.

what does the ma61 digi one go up to?
I cranked out 220. which with the 10% error, actually makes the speed 240.

I've had the MA61 speedo up to an indicated 239, but I don't know how far it will actually go. The LED display can in theory go as high as 399, but I don't know if the electronics understand that sort of speed. Anyone want to give it a try?

With the 5m i got up to a max of 178km/hr...pretty damn impressive for an old timer! God ma61s feel nice at high speeds

i still have never been faster than 269...was in my dads v12 jag soverign...yes he was driving and overtaking a road train
Wasnt anywhere near the 7000rpm redline either...just how fast can this thing go?

100%+ in dads rwd hilux and it was still pulling good (to floaty at those speeds)
210/220 in the soobs (ran outa road)

My daily drive went up past the 200 and then back around to 0 but then got stuck on the trip meter reset button. So thats about 125%
But we must keep in mind that I was only in 3rd gear at the time complaining of how slow the guy in front was going. I think it was pretty stuffed!

Damn digital speedo....i've used all 100% of it
well only up to 170kmh(would of gone further but my mate was about to piss his pants i think...not sure he enjoyed goign that speed up the M1 ducking and weaving in light sunday night traffic)

Hmmmm. I have go up to 160 out of 280. So that is 57%. Is that something to be proud of.
However travelling down to Horsham Vic the other month and I was noticing the number of beautiful long straight with no where for our blue and white friends to hide.

Damn speed cut at 180! Means I've only used 75% of the speedo. Still, it'll hit that easy in 4th - not even redlining it......
And this is with a 4.3:1 diff
I used to be able to hit the speed cut twice on my home thru the chain of ponds (nice Adelaide Hills Rd).....

My RA23 has a retarded speedo... most of the time it works properly, but sometimes for no particular reason it will decide to read 2 or 3 times the actual speed. I've wound the needle all the way around while doing not much more than 100! I've never been able to figure out why it does this, but it really freaks me out sometimes when I glance down at the speedo and it says 160 when I'm just cruising through the suburbs.

plenty of un-marked cars tho! you really have to head out into little desert where there are no towns, country town cops are the worst!

I've done 183km/h on the way back from Portsea while trying to catch my mate who left 10 min before me. 183 of 220 = 82.7%... Standard Cressida, could've gone faster but when I overtook a guy who was doing 95km/h or so I chickened out. That meant that I passed him at about 90 clicks faster. Never again...

My speedo goes up to 180kmh in my levin & on a good day or when I feel like it I do 190kmh cause the road traffic down here is not as bad as down there in AU & we don't have to look out for cops........
so I can salely say I use 110% of my speedo....

my first ST162 sat on 225 for a long while when outrunning 2 cops along the Monaro Hwy and I recall looking down at 230 for a bit when going down a hill but she was peaking. 
My next ST162 with a 3SGTE did 240+ several times...most notable was outrunning cops coming back from Melbourne (they faded and I got away)  The car now owned by my cousin hit just under 270 (on the "terra trip" computer) which raised the question of will the needle snap off at 240. The rear window wiper lifted off at 250 and bent
I've only managed 235 so far in my ST185CS but I really haven't given it the runs like previous cars...I have somewhat matured as a driver and consider it unsafe to do this off track

I've heard more than 1 story, and seen 1 example, of cars doing speeds like that which they were not designed to do - and as a result the bonnet peeled off, snapped the locking mechanism, and flipped back destroying the windscreen and most of the roof

Steve - im pretty sure that the Group a would get to 250 no probs but the stock 185 - having longer gearing would pip it in the end ..
I can vouch for gt4 fastness - i was a little disturbed that it was still pulling strong at 200 + kmh and didnt seem to be letting up its go ..a JZA80 supra would be insane - ive seen many vids of 300km + runs in those after modifications , most notibly getaway in stockholme 2 ..

That is approximately 61%.

The grandpa cressi hasn't done anything too decent (except for getting me repeatedly busted for 100+ in 60 zones  bye bye license)
but the old '78 Skyline did 170 out of a possible 180.
Although this took about 2km's of booting it and once it was there it felt like the end of the world.
(killed the gearbox a month later, I wonder if...)

I know the Soarer speedo will only show 180 but if I got the speed delimiter how fast could I go? What is the real top speed of a stock soarer?
I heard it's 140mph for the US spec V8 so i guess the Turbo would be faster?

180 out of 240.. changed to early into 5th and well ... I don't think the wind helped either. I wanna be the first of my friends to top 200. Could it be done in a st162? keeping in mind that the engine only has 80,000km on it and it's the japspec one with no egr or things like that.
So that's exactly 3 quarters of my speedo..
The oil it was burning was really helping it go I think that was my old piston ringless engine haha..

Dad's HSV Senator 170/250 = 68%

175kph out of 220 in the RA60, 21R-C bellowing away, A/C on and fully loaded car.

Well Saturday night i got a new top speed for the charade, speedo goes up to 180km/h and i looked down and just got to see it start climbing past 180km/h at which point i had to start slowing down for the bend in the road so that gives it somewhere just over the 100% mark.
can't remember what the RA23 speedo goes up to i think 200km/h so that would make it 110% as it hit 223km/h, "can't be stuffed working out the points of the percentage"

170k's on the Corolla speedo - takes me less than 11.0 sec from standing start to get it past that
Approx 210 is the best that I have managed (on a private testing facility) 210/170 = 123%.
