Im having some problems with engine not igniting...
i have recently removed a kill switch that was wired to the fuse box in the engine bay... the wire was red & black stripe...
i taken out all the kill switch wiring and rejoined the wires - it started fine and solved all my problems....
now after putting the dash back in - there seems to be no spark... have I fryed something ?
will the ECU bhuggah up if its rubbing on metal (sitting above the glove box lock)...
can anyone tell me the connection of yellow board behind the passenger kick panel.... is it critcal ? it has started fine with out the male connected.

PS, very strong fumes from the exhaust as if something has been saturated in petrol - hence the flooded theory ?

have you checked the fuse the switch was near that you disconnected? chances are that's fried (if I'm reading you correctly)
ecu should be fine - it is all insulated, unless you've bared some wires at the back

If you have no spark and the injectors are working fine (as you'd expect would be the case with a 5M, given that fuel and ignition are separate), then there would be heaps of fuel being injected into the engine without being burnt, hence the strong petrol fumes.
I suggest you start troubleshooting at the coil and work your way back to the ignition switch. Obviously you have done something after you removed the kill switch/replaced the dash.

As far as I can tell there must be a loose / broken connection in one of the ECU wiring harnesses...
As soon as I pack the ecu horizontal - engine wont start
When I hang the ecu vertically the connection seems to be re-establish ... it starts very very roughly.
The strong petrol fumes remain... and the exhaust blows a blue smoke and lots of it... I've check my engine oil and there seems to be bhuggah all..
the rough idle dissapears after 10 15 seconds...
IM GOING INSANE... ..
