alrightie, i just got an MA61 for the 1jz/2jz project, so my poor beloved baby is looking to find a new home... preferably a nice one with someone here that will put a 1g-gte in him....
May 1982 RA60 Toyota Celica Liftback
Metallic Brown (Bronze)
21R-C 2 Litre 4 Cylinder
5 Speed Manual (W57 Gearbox)
New Tailgate (6 years old)
Absolutely no rust anywhere (or bog)
around 201k original kilometers
New Radiator about 6 months ago
New water pump
New Clutch Slave cylinder
Great condition inside and out
New Axle, wheel bearing, and alloy wheel
Pioneer 45wx4 Cd player,
6" Pioneer speakers in the doors
4x7" Pioneer speakers in the back
- Pretty decent sound, hasnt failed me yet, and im a music freak
then the usuals:
power steering
air conditioning (very cold )
seat covers (yay)
mats (double yay)
2 new tyres on the front, about 80-90% tread on the back
it has rego till july next year (in victoria) and im selling it with a roadworthy.
Body has 3 tiny pin dents and chips, and the bonnet shows it age, but certainly is still in great condition, and havent seen a celica as good before.
have had no problems, the only think i can think of is the electric switch to control the aerial height doesnt work.
pics :
here are the interior pics, to hopefully create some interest. it was a muggy day, and the digi cam is a bit gay, so everything looks kinda milky.
thats the bonnet, and they aren't chips all on the lower front near the grille- they are bugs n dirt and shit. just thought i'd post this pic as its the worst part of the car, condition wise- and even then its pretty good.
more at http://www.the-bronze-warrior.cjb.net
i will be looking at around $3500, more info or pics if anyone wants them....
Edit: will take some interior pictures as well.
Edit: added more shit
Edit: Added more pics.
and the reason i have to get rid of my poor baby:

I'll consider the hatch, if it's rust free
might make it a bit hard to sell the rest of your car tho

draven:
yeah, i prolly wouldn't wanna pull the car apart, as its perfectly fine to drive about, and has absolutely NO rust anywhere.....but i we do know someone who has an old RA60 in light blue that we might be using for parts- if the tailgate is rust free (when we look at it) i will let you know....
Witchity:
Yeah, the bronze aint great, but it certainly grew on me, and i've never seen another one in the same colour....
but im in ballarat, victoria, about 90km from Melbourne....
The thing is guys i love my car and will miss it, and I'd sooner sell it here, where I know someone will give him the proper love and care that i gave him (and he deserves ).... etc

whoops, better say that it includes:
pioneer 45wx4 Cd player,
6" pioneer speakers in the front
4x7" pioneer speakers in the back
its a good system, not "doof doof" but you get a really nice quality sound outta it.
also just put 2 new tyres on the front, and all damage that happened with the roadabout incident has been repaired. also just had a wheel alignment, and is going like stink.
theres a slight scrape on the drivers side rear vent thingie (been there since i got it) but im getting a new plastic vent this week and ill whack it in.
bump
i wanna sell it to a toyota fan because i know he will live unto more days of glory as opposed to him being unloved and inappreciated with some other bullshit owner.
am getting new pics soon.

thanks alakasam
but id have to agree, this was an awesome first car, even though it wasnt quick, it still outhandled, outbraked and was far cooler than all my friends cars (r31skylines, vr,vn,vp commodores, ke50 rollas, old bucket fords)....except a mates sa63 ...
but yes! bump.
needless to say price isnt negotiable. acutally, why not drop it down to 3000.
new price $3000 obo.

power is 67 kw (90 hp) at the fly, so it aint really quick- but about par with the little hatches and shit of the early 80s...
um, the ra60s had power steering as a factory option (which this has), live axle rear suspension, front wheel ventilated disc brakes, rear drum brakes, 5 speed manual, 14x5.5" alloy wheels, um... i cant think of anything else, but if you have any more questions just pop them to me
needless to say its got a decent sized engine bay waiting for a 1g-gte to put in.... like i was originally going to do

Thats a big HMMMM there
Even my 3S-FE has more power than that stock, i really don't wan't to have to buy the car, then still pay annother copule of thousand for engine swap, at least not at the moment. I was looking for a celica with a 3SGE, is that only in the ST-162 model?

if you are after the 3s-ge, you want the st162 SX hatch model. 1986-1988 i think.
another option is an ma61 celica-supra. good fun.

um, i picked up mine for 4500, theres a few in here for sale... supra boy has one in qld that seems like a damn fine buy.... im not sure whether str8 2.8 is still selling his, but that seems awesome too....
look around the $3000-$6000 mark, lower and higher depending on what kinda condition you're after....

Not a buyer but it looks in good condition..I'm suprised no interest as a cheap easy to fix first car. RWD..not too much power but I'm sure somebody could fix that, or just drive it and sell it once you're finished with it. Try uni noticeboards if have no other luck..good student car
