Sick Corona RT142 22R-E Fri, 03 October 2003 06:19 Go to next message
Hi all,

My totally stock corona has recently had a very sudden drop in performance and fuel economy. Used to be able to climb the hill on the way home in 4th accelerating all the way, now it struggles in 2nd.

Replaced Plugs and leads. Had Injectors serviced. Compression test shows 160 psi on each pot. Fuel delivery is fine. My limited knowledge does not tell me where to look next. Does anybody have any suggestions?

I should mention the catalytic converter collapsed around the same time and is just an empty shell. Replaced the muffler and exhaust is clear. You'd think this would improve performance rather than hinder it, so I have discounted it as a problem...

Any comments or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Ryan
