"Super Car" sightings. Fri, 03 October 2003 06:52 Go to next message
Yep, just one of those days hit me today.

First was a new porsche, (I dunno what model, it was hardtop and black, newest shape), and I followed this down the highway to Aspley where it turned off.

I suppose I better mention the white WRX I saw earlier to this as well going the other way. Yea, they are common enough now, but it was the '98-2000 shape. Best looking WRX IMO.

Anyways, after the Porsche above, I was traveling down Webster road and got behind a silver nissan 350Z. Smile

Ok, after that on my way home from tafe, I saw again what looked like the Porsche I saw above on waterworks road. Could very well have been the same one.

Then as I am still coming home and I turn off days road back onto webster road, I get behind a new BMW M3.

And as we're going along I see a dark red ST185 GT4 going the other way. Hardly in the same league as the above cars, but I better put it in as it was the best toyota I saw all afternoon. Wink

McLaren F1? Jeebus, I didn't think there would be too many of them in australia, let alone any on the road

edit: I mean, didn't think it would be on the road if there was one here

i got to push the only registered f355 challenge into a spray booth by pure chance

it had the racing exhaust on it too, it was so loud that i was in pain listening to its engine being revved. louder than any industrial noise ive ever head like angle grinding concrete or metal, a lot louder, sounded just like an f1

Yeah I heard Lindsey Fox the truck driver has a McLaren F1

And I think there is one more in OZ too....if I rememebr correctly from a TV show once

If anyone has seen that Top Gear test of the F1 they would know how special the cars are....25,000 pounds to service the car..WOW!!!

Thats $75,000 ish Australian and then might even be more becuse who would service it in Australia??

A skating freind of my Girlfriend invited me into his garage last christmas. after squeezing past a suby outback, WRX, R33 Skyline (which held my attention for about 20min) (1156kw WOW),
Ford F250 Truck (brand New) and finally getting to the back of the garage under cover and wired to the home alarm system were 2, Yes 2 Dodge Vipers 1 standard Viper RT and the second a blue Dodge Viper GT (complete with stripes) The GT was in the Targa Tassie Last year. I then proceeded to drool for several hours, follow by giving him an ear bashing about his distinct lack of Toyotas in his Garage and how I would be happy improve his collection by swapping my RA28 for 1 of the vipers.

Well he did have 2, I mean how greedy is that Razz

Last I heard the RT was being rebuilt in his company colours and having the engine rebuilt and I think supercharged and NOS added to It. The bloke Is a 50 year old Hoon!

lol. Nice one.

I once followed a ferrari Barchetta all the way from Epping to the airport. Had to work hard to keep up, but wasnt about to let that thing get out of my sight. Very Happy

The sl55 AMG is the worlds fastest road car to 300km/hr. So yeah, you could classify it as a super car. Smile

I saw one of the new Porches on Windsor Rd yesterday... Three cop cars had pulled it over (Stolen?)....

I find it more amusing when you see totally wrong "rice" jobs... theres a 1980 something Prelude which drives up windsor rd each morning with a Grp A bonnet scoop... I can't help but laugh every time I see the guy

I'd say that the original AC cobra 427 over the road is a bit of a supercar... if it ever left his garage. Rolling Eyes

and of course there's a BA GTHO in clayton... 5.4litre v8 turboed... hmm.. least they're trying some new things... it's still got a ford badge though. hehe

nice r34 skyline gtr that goes to monash clayton too.

Tim

My boss just FLEW (read in airplane) his new (2003) skyline out fron Japan after flying over to purchase and customise. Set him back somewhere around $150,000 all up and he couldn't even be bothered to pick it up, so he sent us down with a barge to float it back from Botany to Balmain. If there was ever a temptation to sink something that was it.

I remember one time in Sydney I stopped on Parramatta road because there was this exotic car dealer there and it turned out that most were fairly old ones but still good to look at. I was with my sister who has no idea about cars but she loves to talk and has no fear so she was great to be with becasue she started chatting with the owner of the shop. He took us out the back and showed us his car...a new (at the time) silver Diablo and apprently it was the only silver one in OZ at the time...about 5 years ago. Well we had a great chat with the guy and I got to sit in it etc but never got a ride. Damn nice car!!

Well later that night I went out to dinner in Double Bay and was sitting at a table close to the street and 1/2 way through dinner this silver Diablo parks right in front of us and the guy got out and said g'day and had a little chat with me. He was really down to earth and seemed like a top guy. It felt really cool to chat with someone that just hopped out of a Diablo. OH I WANT TO BE RICH!!!!!!!!

Saw an M3 CLS , first one in the country , 15kw more at the wheels then a normal M3 , 80kg's less weight.

Power to weight ratio of 3.85 kg per kw.

Carbon fibre bonnet , roof and boot lid. Also has a nice body kit , not over done at all.

It's sitting in the showroom at work waiting for the owner to pick it up. Shame he doesn't fit in the racing seats that come with it , silly mr lebenese man.

I seen it a while back - had Victorian reg. I think that the guy lives on Forest way. I am still slack-jawed - they are the toughest thing, I was spewing that there was no one to share it with - better than seeing any movie star ('cept maybe Catherine Zeta-Jones).

Thats a classic. Ute boys....

I really wanted to go to that ute muster...in one of those S15 Silvia Utes they have made up in Japan for drifting...would have turned a few heads
