WTB: RA23 Project Celica

Hi people,
Like many people I've been bitten by the Celica bug. I'd be fine if mum had kept her RA40 Coupe, but since it went away many years ago, I'll have to figure out something myself.
I'm after an RA23 to work on with my old man. I'm looking for something definitely under $1000 to get me started. Something with good mechanics and a fairly straight body. A bit of surface rust isn't a worry, but I'd prefer as little structural rust as possible. Paint can be as bad as you like, if it has any at all!
If you have a project car that you've already started working on, I'd be interested in that too, so long as you have the majority of parts there. I want to try to keep parts hunting to a minimum.
Finally, if you have any of the above with any type of 18R-G, I might be very interested.
So throw me what you've got, even if its not quite what I've described here, I may still be interested. I'm in no rush to get one, so if you have anything that might be for sale in a few months give us a yell.
I'm in Brisbane, but would consider traveling if its what I'm looking for.
Cheers,
Ryan

This one is in Melbourne. I had a look at it, its got a 2T motor, its been reprayed pretty badly and there is a fair bit of bog in it (doors etc) but it could be an ok project car. You could prolly knock them down even more.

saw this today on another forum
I have a 1976 TA-23 Celica, that I am considering to sell. Not many great examples left around now. This particular model has the backward sloping crossmember in the engine bay, making it a bit easier for your after market installs.
She has been totally stripped and about $1500 spent on her removing all the rust and makin sure she is perfectly straight.
Has everything minus the gear box, has the 1.6L but would be a shame not to put an import motor in her.
Also includes a professionally installed sunroof, and a pair of import sports seats, in great condition also.
The front brakes have been upgraded to MA70 Supra discs and calipers.
Pretty much just ready for someone to pick a colour and have her sprayed and assembled.
I will not be able to restore it for quite some time, so rather than sit there and collect dust. Might as well find someone who is able to do something.
I want $1250 for her , car is in Toowoomba Qld. Garaged.

Cheers guys, thanks for the links. The one up in Toowoomba is looking quite interesting. Keep them coming if you come across any more.

Not sure about the one from toowoomba, it would be really good if someone got it and did it up really nice. I'd only be intending to put an 18-RG in there at the most and use it as a respectable daily driver, it wouldn't feel right.
Still looking though, so anyone looking to sell an RA23 or even a TA23, let me know!
