Standard MX83 auto-box - How strong? Fri, 03 October 2003 21:23 Go to next message
As the title suggests.. How strong is the standard auto-box from the MX83? Will they hold up well against a 7MGTE?

What have people used in their own Cressida's, and how long have they lasted?

Cheers,
Paul.

Should do...
Mine (a hybrid of Soarer Bell-housing/torque converter and Cressida trans) holds up behind a 1UZ - including a couple of track-days at Wakefield. One thing, though: If you're wanting longevity out of an A340E, esp. in higher performance applications, ensure that you fit a decent transmsission cooler. (They do not like to get too hot!)

Hope this helps.

Personnally id be worried about the motor, i dont care what anybody says, they dont have a good reputation, some have had success with them, some havent, just hope the 7mgte in question is a good one.

Just my 2c worth, from experience. (twice)

Hope it works out for ya.

Steve
