3SGE KE35 finally lives!!!!!

Yep, after many many moons of trying to get things together, my 3SGE KE35 hit the dyno last night. Havn't taken it for a run yet (it's a track car) but sure looks promising. Also had it corner weighted whilst I was there.
902 Kg's wet.
scales showed 52:48 front to rear weight distribution.
201hp at the treads (so 240/250 at the flywheel??)
Sounds unreal when it comes onto the cams around 5000rpm.
Solid as a rock to 9000rpm, but no more significant hp over 7500 really so we rev limited it to 8300.
Keep you posted after the first practice at the track.
Steve.

Thanks for the kind words fella's!
Special thanks to Shane for posting the picky's for me.
Flares are Mazda RX3 ones. (about $200 I recall). Got them from Selectmaz in Melbourne and trimmed with a 4" angle grinder until they fint the corolla (didn't take much)
Glenn Booth RA40GT?? on these forums has some toyota ones off TE27's that won't be as wide and would suit a road application better than these. I went all out to increase track which I can do under the class rules I'm looking to race in. Would attract the wrong sort of attention from the POlice on the street though!
It appears the exhaust pipe is a bit restrictive at present, so I will get around to opening that up a tad, some better oil and plugs and further tuning which will up the power a bit. The whole car has to be sorted out and tidied up yet. Keep ya posted!

I go to the club cars here in Tassie, and there is a TA22 with a 3SGTE in it.
3H (I think) Improved Production Class?
Running Commodore disks by any chance?
Possible tech article in the making....?????
Once again, AWESOME

Nice car and paint job. Should fly, good luck on the track !!!
There is a guy in SA (Chris Bailey) who has one of these with a 3S-GTE putting out about 340hp at the flywheel (bloody 36mm restrictors). Car goes BLOODY hard and looks schmick !!
BTW - interested in a Dry Sump pan for the engine ? Drop me a line - was fitted to a Colin Bond Group A Corolla

Aries forged pistons runing 13:1 compression.
Carillo rods
Stock race clearanced crank everything balanced of course.
308 duration cams.
Shim under buckets. (Yamaha)
Titanium oversize valves from BMW (35mm inlets & 30.5 exhauusts)
Comp springs from Yamaha.
50mm throttles
Motec M4 pro
winged baffled sump
Ported head
blah balh blah the usual race prepping.....
Good power but not in the BEAMS league.
Those things really churn it out.

Hi Glenn!
Yes but I also have G series rear end which weighs a TON. Overkill really (but should be reliable) T series would be plenty and MUCH lighter. Also roll cage weighs quite a bit too.

yeah those bloody beams engines ,ive become a bit of a collecter of these 3 as we type 1 trd version ,1 std sitting on the garage floor and another on the engine stand and they do make what they say the auto3sge was on motecs engine dyno made 201 hp at 7600 so the manual most likely makes the claimed 210 hp

HI fellas,
Well I'm one happy chappy.
First day the car went on the track (yesterday) at QLD raceway, it ran really well. Nothing fell off and I didn't touch it all arvo. It was only a test day, but I managed to lap only 1 sec off the 2000cc Impro Prod lap record, so I'm stoked. (give or take a fly shit as timing watch only, not official timing)Considering there's heaps to fine tune, and I can't drive for shit, it couldn't have been better. Oh yeah, the 2 litre lap record is held by a cosworth escort. Even faster again is a 1600cc sprinter! Keep you posted. My aim = break 2000cc lap record in a KE35 dinosaur.

Steve!
Remember me?
I was about to put the 4AGE into my Sprinter the last time I saw you, it was so long ago. I think it was outside Hinterland Exhausts in Nerang.
I'll have to check out the car next time I'm in the country. I've got some more toys that you might like to see as well now.

HI Bill. Boy you've got a good memory. Yes i recall. That was yonks ago. That was when I could play cars whenever I wanted. Now it's family, work, some study and hardly any time to play cars. I sold my white 4AGE sprinter a few days after seeing you last. (wish I still had it too) That must have been 10 years ago!!
Yes catch you again one day Bill.
