thermostat - RWD 4AGE Sat, 04 October 2003 07:28 Go to next message
anyone know if the FWD and RWD thermostats are the same?

i have one with the RWD water pump/setup i have - so, i figured i'd replace it (for good measure) - so went to the shop today and found that the replacement is ALOT longer than the original one - i don't think it will fit in the RWD setup - the FWD mount the thermostat on top of the gearbox so just wondering if they are different?

maybe a 4AC thermostat would fit?

thoughts/comments/suggestions appreciated...

the early FWD and RWD types are "similar"
the late FWD type and RWD are not.

"ALOT longer"???
do you mean that extra/added round disk sticking out that will sit in the middle of the water flow & transfer heat to the thermostat's bulb?

i think it's a thermo. for letting in cool water, as opposed to letting out hot water, so it'll need that extra bit.
