am trying to get me hands on AUST spec MA61 supra wiring diagrams... i am sick to death of trying to figure shit out from the US 5m-ge versions. if anyone has plug details, that would be greta too...
also, if anyone also has any details on the plugs in the early ma70 supras (7mge non turbo) - specifically the three plugs joining the engine loom to the chasis loom, that would be great
cheers

cause im an electrical gumby and need help
am putting an early model (86-88) NA 7mge into the ma61 and am trying to figure out how to wire it up. its probably not that difficult, but im just trying to get my head around things.
like the power to the 7mge ecu needs a continuous BATT source, as well as the switched B and B+, and the starter (from memory - dont quote me!)
the 5me doesnt quite seem to use the same power supply at all (ie no BATT, and the switch power seems different)
ive also got to figure out which 'main relay' the diags talk about, the ma61 seems to have two in the engine bay junction box: 'efi main relay', and 'main relay' ... which one does what etc etc...
on top of all that, there are 3 decent sized plugs that mate the 7m engine loom to the chasis loom, the 5m has 1 8pin plug - somehow, ive gotta figure out what bits of the 7m plugs go into the 5m plug (ie tach, water temp, oil pressure (as opposed to oil pressure switch?? wtf?!)
eugh ... i hate wiring...
fwiw - i have a complete 7m engine loom in front of me, a complete 5me engine loom, the plugs from an ma61 chasis that mate to the 5me engine loom, plus a circuit opening relay and wires from an ma61

if u know how to use a multi meter then u can figure out the oil temp tacho
dont be lazy
theres diagrams for the plugs u want are hard to find
the ecu plugs are easy

not this little black duck
im trying to do this without having to pull the car apart just yet, thats all, and it would be good to be able to make up sub harnesses making installation a little easier than splicing.
i was thinking something along the lines of my own little relay black box to power things, but was wondering if this was avaiodable...
im not lazy im just learning
cheers mate

use a multimeter
I can tell you that toyota has contradicted themselves in the pinouts on the ma61 diagram i have.
The dash stuff is really easy! once you know where it all goes (after much screwing around behind the dash)
Tacho wire - Black with red dot.
Water temp - Yellow with thin green line and brown dot.
Thats what it is on my one any way.

hehe
well these days i dont bother goin to the creek anymore
i used to have a datsun 1600 with a half descent fj20t about
6 yrs ago when the drags werent so busy
i wasted alot of money back then
these days im abit wiser and have a business to concentrate on
i just hate when people say things like
i know this engine with twin turbos etc etc
goin cheap
would be nice to have a fast car again but i have to say no
just dont want to get into spending money on fast cars again
i grew up on working on rally cars so i am the type to spend money on only the good gear or nothing else so it gets expensive
for now i will stick to fitting a 1uzfe to my hilux mainly for better fuel economy hehe
the carby 22r drinks more than me on a sat night up the tav
