WTD: Roll cage to suit TA22 Thu, 18 July 2002 06:57 Go to next message
Hi everyone, i am after a cage to put in for my engineering certificate inspection. I dont care if its steel or alloy ill probobly sell it in a few months cause i want a 3in alloy one. I will be getting a new one later it will just be easier to get it engineered with a cage now. Half or full cage considered.

Thanks.

Jamie.

I know of a rollcage ( 6 point i think ) for a ta22 ..

Its in a old stripped ta22 that one of our CCCQ members has - Its an ex rally car ( you would need to take out rear seat to fit it ) and i think its alloy ..

Needs a good cleanup as its been in the weather for a bit sitting in the stripped shell

If you would like me to find out more - just ask .. Its In Brisbane ..

Stuart

I have an alloy six point cage currently in a TA22 for $800.00.

You will be able to keep your back seats as the cage mounts to parcel shelf rather than rear wheel wells.

Cage is in excellent condition and would come up like new with a bit of a polish.

I work for a national freight company and could get it too Sydney for free for you.

Contact me via e-mail if you wish.

saspeed that sounds good i would like to keep the rear seat even though i wont have people in it just looks better. Ill get back to you in a few weeks cause i just spent the money on rego (decided i cant wait any longer to drive it!!)

Cool1, the computer is getting done next weekend so i dont have time to do it before then but ill do it straight after that. The stock diff should hang in for a week or so if i dont thrash it.

Jamie let me know if you buy a cage as I wouldn't mine seeing what the fitment looks like up front. Do you know how much a new one would cost? My brother had a four point steel (CAMS SPEC) four pointer custom made for his 79 Escort and it cost $600 and an extra $200 for the extra 2 points up front. I'd be interested to know how much a new BOND or BROWN DAVIS cage would cost?

Hi Justin, i am holding off on the cage at the moment cause i am getting the car regoed and drivable this weekend. Next pay i am thinking of buying a custom inlet, then i need engineers cert aswell. So if all goes to plan ill get one in about 2 months. I had a quote for a cams approved 6 point and it was $900 made from moly hence why i didnt grab an alloy one for $800. Id pay $500 for the alloy one otherwise ill get a moly one made later on. If the car runs the times i expect it to then a moly cage is a requirement so i may be better off getting one to begin with. As soon as i get one ill let ya know.
