unless you get one made under the proper specs they are not legal, Brakepro Parramatta does a legal version but they are not cheap, they quoted me $110 last week for brake lines... thats each line!!
something to think about though.... why do you need a braided line for the clutch??? unless its for looks youre not going to make any difference as the clutch is a low pressure line and braided lines will only help with high pressure applications like brakes or hydraulic rams. IMHO your wasting your time

as a point of interst, what's the point of braided brake lines?
I've never really heard of brake lines failing - does it just give better response do to less flex?

I'm after the braided clutch hose in particular as mine runs quite close to the turbo dump pipe. I was thinking the braided type might stand up to the heat a bit better than rubber?
I am planning on putting some thermal barrier around it also for extra protection.
Thanks all for suggestions.

They're supposed to give better feel since they deform less under pressure.

Braided brake lines increase pedal feel cause they dont balloon at all, unlike reinforced rubber flex hoses.
Braided clutch lines are legal, and can be made by anyone. Its only brakes where they have to meet ADR requirements with anti-whip protectors at each end (sounds kinky but true!) and must be manufactured by an approved agent.

they most likely wont as the steel tends to hold the heat which will cause the rubber inside to perish anyway. the best thing to do is either ceramic coat all the turbo and exhaust bits and/or do as you planned and cover the lines in heat wrap, you can also make up small heat shields they work very effectively as well.

If any of you guys are interested in buying braided Brake or clutch line PM me and i can get u some made to order. These Brake lines are ADR7 approved. They are more than reasonably priced under $100 each. The braided line is a nylon pipe covered in stainless steel braid . The result is a firm positive pedal at all times. There is little or no flex in the line. Takes a little getting used to. Works wonders and looks impressive.
Cheers
