i rarely race on the street, but.....
about 5 months ago (before i blew my gte up) i pulled up next to this V8 crummydore. i wasnt prepared to do anything, just heading home.
well there was the guy driving and his missus. of course beeing a typical holden driver/tosser he starts reving it up and kinda stepping it forwards.
when our turn to go came, he got the jump on me, but then my turbo spooled up (i really gotta learn to load/spool it up before i take off properly sometime ) anyways after i hit 2nd i was nearly level. then screamed past him in 3rd (my car loves 3rd).
when he pulled up next to me his missus was smiling and nodding her head at me.
he was not, didnt look to happy at all.
then he took of again at the next change, i just let him go and went home.

I havent raced a decent person yet in my car. I have had a couple of idiots who refused to look at me, but that's about as far as it goes.
The best race I ever had was in my Uncle's brand new 6cyl camry. Pulled up next to this s2000 on Epping Rd. Neither of us revved it up, but just took off at the lights. I was quite impressed with the 'ol camry. I was in the lead till I hit 3rd and then he slowly started to take me. Stopped at the end of 3rd. Race was over and I was going pretty fast. We both had grins and gave a wave.

What is it that I feel then? There is definitely a very big kick once it get to the 4000 revs or so. I thought that it could only be vvti or something like that.

And he's prolly glad that he could finally beat a car... S2000s aren't as fast as they're made out to be...

An S2000 is fast if you've got someone that knows how to drive it properly. They basically need to REALLY have their neck rung out which people aren't used to.
If the person doesn't properly know what they're doing, it's very easy for them to be slow.

I cant wait till i get my new engine.. but im still not gonna be a cunt when i win

When i go out driving on a Thursday night in my TA22 with the good old stock 2T it seems i always end up at the lights next to either R32 skylines pushing 250rwkw or WRX's.... Being a man of no shame i'll still give them a run for their money as it's suprising how much of a decent launch you can get in a car that ways under 1000kg. Even though i get caned every single time i still find that all the drivers give me a big smile or a wave before vanishing into the horizon.
I had a good time the other night with a 1.3 Starlet Life with a big exhaust and what sounded like some serious engine work ... It gave my car a good run for it's money although i could catch it in the end. It was a girl driving this car with her b/f and they both where very positive towards me.
So yeah.....

I Rarely street race unless im forced
But yeah there are nice drivers out there who give you a compliment with wave, nod, smile or right of way
I like holden, wrx drivers there not all that bad. Like boris said light weight cars can be quick off the line at the traffic light GP
I always back off along with the other driver once we hit the speed limit and give eachother the nod or thumbs up. But they do have a tendancy and wonder whats under my bonnet thats ticking fiercely hmm secret spec 4AG

The best "drags" I ever had involved my mates 808 with a 13B turbo. It had a 9 inch with 4.5 centre, and a set of small street legal slicks.
Ever Falcodore driver tried lining him up. He'd do a little burn-out to get some heat in the tires, then the "competitor" would do the same. The looks on their faces when the left front wheel would leave the ground was priceless . No Falcodore drivers would try it on him a second time.

Im usually against street-dragging around town - but had a bit of a play with a modified turbo gemmy the other day .. We werent side by side - i was following him ..
he was in front - saw me coming and hsi mate in the back seat gave me a grin ( later found out he was a friend of the guy i had in the car next to me )
we rounded the last corner onto a long straight - about .8km and he boots the gemmy and is off up the road like a little blue rocket, i round it closse behind and let the Gt4 loose - full boost - turning hard into the corner .. I remained within 2 car lengths of his car (basically not giving an inch from when he turned the corner) until he finally started creeping away and my corner came up..
had a blast - thumbs up from his passengers - and mine
id like to take him on a side to side effort - just to see how a " stock" gt4 compares against a modded gemmy turbo, there wasnt much in it at all - and my cars about 500Kg heavier
