Gidday

A number of you have been getting external Walbro pumps. Which one is it and what HP will it support? Does anyone have a comparison against a 044 motor sport?

Walbro pumps are rated at 255lph, which I think translates to well over 500hp. You can see the flow rates at various pressures here:

Hi guys,

Is there any difference/advantage of the Walbro pumps over a Bosch unit ? Is it just the price ? Confused

Is there a local supplier at all and what is the price that one should expect to pay ?

Cheers

Ring Neil at Rush Imports http://www.rushimports.com.au/products.php
He stocks Walbro pumps and lists them at $260 delivered.

Confused

After looking at various places, there is one guy selling a new pump (255 l/hr Walbro pump) on ebay for USD $115 incl shipping.

How then does it get to be AUS $100 more here from a local supplier ? Surprised

Cheers

Not to mention that the A$ is only worth US$0.69 which is the highest it has been for a long, long time. Used to be around US$0.52 or so which was a lot closer to the answer to your question. Very Happy

ebay suppliers are often tax dodging too Wink

US$115 =~ AUD$177 (@.65)
customs is 15% for auto parts = AUD$26.50
shipping for airmail i would guess is around US$30-60 (i just got some 1lb packages that cost US$25) if we guess US$50 = UAD$77

so 177+26+77 = AUD$280

and then we have GST on top Very Happy an ALL the above costs = $28
so we have a grand total of AUD$308
since the customs +GST is >$50, you have to pay it Sad

if you manage to miss the customs and GST, then usually just double the US cost.... if you get customs (usually for auto parts Sad ) then it's more like 2.5x the US cost...

Yeah, but it depends on what they write on the customs docket !!!!! Rolling Eyes

The quote from them was US $25 to ship, so your calcs are pretty close.

I guess the real question remains, are the Walbro as good as/better/worse than the Bosch equivalent ? Confused

Cheers
