If you have an oil leak from your engine and it makes a mess on your driveway you should fit one of these! They catch any leaking oil.

Any idea whats in side it?
Drain on bottom?
Whats the short length on tube with the fittings on either end for?

if you are serious which i seriously dont know if you are 
an oil catch cans is used if you want a breather from your engine block or as i want one there is a hose coming from a breather on my block witch goes to my aircleaner (the hose gets oil vapour through) so you put the hose to the oil catch can and it will catch the oil (funny that) and i can use the return to go to my air cleaner (no oil vapour just air) the straw type thing on the outside is so you can see how much oil is in there and the drain plug is to drian the oil out that you catch.
ohh and it looks unused (its nice and shiny)
i hope this clears up your confusion

The size of the fittings is the same as almost all catch cans except one that are custom fabricated so they are not small .... maybe the pic angle makes it look small.
