Kinda reminds me of the Falcon... now there's another step in the wrong direction for the Avalon.
I agree with EVISTi... the new Camry shape rocks (compared to the bland styling of all previous models).

depends on what falcon you're talking about. If its the BA, then its a step in the right direction
It does look MUCH better, but it still looks old and tired for mine

LOOKS LIKE SHIT!! SORRY, but Toyota Australia is pathetic nowadays.... I will never buy another Toyota unless it is an old car to restore or something along those lines. Their customer service is absolutley shocking and they are way overpriced for what you get in terms of car + customer service. Toyota Australia is going to have to shape up if they are ever going to see another dollar from my pocket getting dished out for a new car.
I still don't understand why Toyo Aust. continues to pour resources into cars that do not sell well at all and dismiss the bigger Toyo Saloons from Japan..............
You know where I am going with this don't you guys??

The kicker is there has been a 2 door camry for years, (in japan of course), called the scepter.
What they REALLY need is to just drop the avalon name, keep the camry and make it AWD, as I see AWD being THE future of cars. Plus Toyota are just sitting on an untapped resource they developed for the GT4. It's good to see it's a 6 cylinder only though too. I know from experience if there is a choice of a 4 or a 6, take the 6 as the car is more designed, (heavier), for a larger engine.

Sad to say but I'd take a Falcon anyday over the Avalon and probably the Camry...neither of them look...right.

Sorry mate, slightly incorrect. There is no official SC400 in Australia. The only 1UZ parts come in the LS400, and unfortunately there is no native support for the 1JZ-GTE in Australia.
JZZ31 (3 litre NA) Soarers share the 2JZ-GE with the local GS300 and IS300 though.

The new Avalon looks so much like a Fairlane/Falcon from the front and kinda Honda Accord like from the rear. I like the look of both the Honda Accord and the Fords but I know that this big Toyota is still a guttless FWD!

Falcon meets commodore i say!
Mum has her Avalon Grande, with a sweet leather interior, nice factory sound system and a moon roof.
With some bling bling wheels it would make for a cool pimp mobile.
Sucks ass that they are FWD though.
