what's the deal with bidding on e-bay?
I've seen so many non-legit bids recently.
do people just bid then pull out at the last moment, or decide not to pay?

i reckon the way it's done is some guy sets up an auction like the "queefed air" or the "Type R Civic with Kamikaze Strafe Attack Spoiler" and then tells his mates to bid on it... No one's going to force their mate to pay up 'cos it's just a joke auction.

It is my understanding that Ebay is free to use... not like Trading Post. I may be wrong, but don't think so.

Apparently the seller has to pay even if the bidder falls through... (Ask The Witzl) so this guy would be up for $30K if it finishes at $1M and nobody pays

Oh well, I guess I was wrong. But, if what Lumpy says is true, the guy would be up for a maximum of $200 not $30,000.

Tht's right SIMDOG, in Ebay Australia I'm pretty sure the maximum fee they charge is $200, otherwise it'd cost a fortune to sell large items etc through it. They have a special deal for cars too.
Unless the US ebay is different, it's still a waste of money.
I like how they listing claims the girl is really hot, but you won't get a photo of her! It's probably the guys fart in the bag!! What if it popped in transit - how do you insure a $1 million bag of dirty air???

They pulled the auction... properly ended auctions are still viewable up to 90 days after they've ended.
