tvis problem Fri, 10 October 2003 06:22 Go to next message
hey guys, my friends corolla hasnt been revving its hardest lately so we thought we would try something so my we put my ecu in and it was revving and going perfect then it sort of died in the arse a bit after a while, what i mean is it wont rev higher than 5500rpm....what could this be? i think it has something to do with the tvis not opening, so its staying closed and starving for fuel and air...if the tvis system is the problem would it be the selenoid that is farked or something else?????
cheers guys

Having t-vis closed over 4400 shouldn't cause any problems like that, all you should notice is a slight lack in power. It's very easy to just disconnect it completely & try it, if it works fine then above 4400 you'll know that's what it is, but I doubt that'd be it.
