Can't remember the colours off the top of my head, but I do know that if you slip the lid off the thing, it's pretty easy to work it out

Yes, it is a magnetic reluctor.
Wires are as follows:
RED: Trigger (pickup for 24 tooth wheel)
GREEN: Home pickup (TDC #1)
YELLOW: Home pickup (TDC #4)
WHITE: Common earth for pickups

For a V4 wolf
CAS white -> TRIGGER GND
CAS green -> TRIG 2, One falling edge per cam revolution
CAS red -> TRIGGER 1, 24 falling edges per cam revolution
TRIGGER +5v is not used since it is a magnetic pickup.
And be sure to set the Wolf to SYNC+REF mode and play with the offsets to get the timing right.

i've been wondering about this...
how can a crank angle sensor know if the engine is at TDC#1 or TDC#1, since it is the same position on the crank...
with a cam sensor it's easy, ,sicnec it does one revolution per engine cycle, but the crank does two revolutions..
so how does it work???

oldcorollas:
The 4AGZE sensor is a CAM angle sensor. It just often gets called a crank angle sensor, i'm often responsible for it , it just rolls off the tongue more easily.
As you said, its not possible to read TDC#1 & #4 with only a CRANK angle sensor.
